gotta love the LIKE200i's EFI !!
« on: December 03, 2021, 02:26:30 PM »
My 2012 LIKE200iLX sat for several days.
When I rolled it out yesterday morning, slipped onto the seat and touched the starter button I was rewarded with that customary instant start - followed by the engine's purring smooth idle.
No playing with the throttle necessary to keep it running and idling nicely.
One can ride off instantly if you want to.
I can hop off and fool around taking photos in the heat, cold or rain - as it just purrs along waiting for me on the road-side.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Yes! The EFI takes the frustration out of cold and hot starts! The frustration is eliminated of not getting the exact sequence of the secret moves required with carburetors! There is something wrong if EFI does not start and run EXACTLY the same everytime. Even a partially dirty air filter can pose as a flooded engine with EFI. Especially on a very humid day...

EFI forever!

Second that, 👍
on two LIKES and my present YAGER 200i, ignition on, short touch of its start button, idles fine.
Like several times already mentioned, hands off throttle during starting.
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

Mmmhhh... When it works, it works. When it works  :-X

On old bikes, that's exactly what you said, exact sequence of the secret move ! I have a Royal Enfield bullet from 71 that I restored last year, it was a pain to start, I had to learn by myself the secret move and now it's perfect, but it took time !

The EFI has to control a lot of parameters, if 1 goes wrong, no start  :o
If everything's under control, you're not going fast enough !
