IAhawk,

I spend a week every summer at Clear Lake, IA with friends. I drove out to Iowa from RI last summer and it was a beautiful state to drive through. Stopped at the humungous truck on Interstate 80, was quite a sight... I hope you weather warms up soon.

Clear Lake is a fun area. I would guess you've been to the Surf Ballroom? Site of Buddy Holley / Big Bopper and Richie Valens last concert?  I still have not made it there, yet...but it's on my list of places in Iowa to visit. I'm in the Iowa City area, about 2 1/2 or 3 hours SE of Clear Lake...and about 45 minutes West of the world's biggest truckstop.
