Too sunny a morning to ride...
« on: May 02, 2022, 03:10:15 PM »
I checked the weather for the next couple of days.
I can't get coffee and get back home before sunrise....and I've no wish to deal with that rising sun in my eyes for fully a quarter of my ride home today.....

It's either park half way home, or wait longer to head home.
Riding in the city mostly blind from the sun is not smart.
So I'll ride in the rain tomorrow.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I understand your reasoning there Stig. I take it there’s no suitable coffee shop to the East of where you live?  I.e. dark on way out and sun behind you on the return leg?.. Then I’ll guess you’ll have already thought of that 🙃

Yeah, no.
Nothing out there of interest until I get to my old fav, Dunkin Donuts on the coast of Mass. (we'd give ourselves a Mental Health Day. Call in from the phone at DD's, by the shore. Head nurse at our psych ward would say, "dammit, you're not sick! - I can hear the waves crashing behind you!... Taking a MHD?" Yes ma'am. "Bast__ds!, why didn't you invite me?!")

On the Burgman I could get on Rt 68, posted 55~70mph. It runs N/S. Sun not a bother. Not going out there on my 155 & 163cc scoots.

One of the Instagram motorcycle crashes I saw the other day was a rider stopped at a red light.....hit from behind because there was massive sun glare up there by the light.
Exactly the situation I want to avoid....and no amount of "super long Duck-Bill helmet visor" will prevent that!
