Just got a ZX 50... have a few questions

So, I just got my first scooter/moped (whatever you want to call it...) and it is a 2004 ZX 50.  I was doing a bit of work and discovered there is another set of lights on the back that I thought were reflectors.  There is a harness coming from it with 3 wires, but what it plugs into is just one wire (green).  There are no loose or extra wires anywhere... it makes no sense!



Any thoughts? 

On the front there are spots for lights (additional blinkers?) but no bulbs or wires.  Is there a way to install a hazard light set-up?

Also, this may seem like a stupid question, but what is "jetting"? 

And how can I tell is the variator has been derestricted?  I know the CDI has been.

Scooter... no pedals on it to make it a moped

The harness... I don't know.  as for the spots for additional lights its just the way they are here in the US.  We have to have the lights on stalks so the standard lights are taken out but the placing for them remains.

Jetting is the size "jet" you have in your carb.  The bigger the jet the more fuel is let into the engine.  need to adjust it with any changes you make so you aren't running lean or rich (too little or too much fuel).

If restricted the variator will have a little washer between the variator and the other plate (don't know what its called) that the belt rides between.
Im usually on a bicycle, so for me, this thing is hauling ass!

Is there a way to put in a hazard light set up using these?  Or use them as additional blinkers for better visuals at night?

not sure.  check the agility 50 thread.  many of them have aux. lights built on.
Im usually on a bicycle, so for me, this thing is hauling ass!

hey man, welcome to the forum... ;D
Those wires are for those lights just below the tail light Just unplug the turn signals you have and plug this in and you have the "euro" turn signals.(remove the bulky ones of course.  :D)
 The variator doresnt get derescricted.. The boss drive IN the var does... If there is a shoulder/flange on one end of the boss drive, grind that off round with the rest. be careful to keep the same shape.(you can buy them also)... Hope this helps.. Keep us posted..... ;)
