Hello everyone! As the title says, I own a PGO br250. I have a bit of a problem... It wont start anymore (and hasn't for a while now
). The electric starter is turning just fine, but the engine shows no other signs of life. No sound at all. I've been looking for the obvious things:
- Is there fuel in the tank? Yes.
- Do we have a spark? Yes.
- Engine pulling in air? Yes.
- Do we have good compression? I don't have a meter, but I do feel some pressure pulsations when I take out the spark plug
- Can I get it to start with start pilot?? No
- Timing problem? Here's where I'm a bit stuck...
I've put the camshaft timing chain back on (it had fallen off, initially thought that was the only problem). I paid close attention to get the timing right. (with respect to TDC). I'm confident that this part is correct. However, still no sound. And yes, the timing chain is still on. So, I made a short slo-mo video to further convince myself that the timing is not an issue. Here's a screenshot:

It may be a bit hard to see, but the spark is occurring at the moment of the screenshot. It seems to be about 45 degrees
after the TDC point. Question: is this normal? I think the timing is not adjustable, but I'd think the spark needs to happen
before TDC...
Question 2: When I take out the fuel line coming from the fuel tank, nothing comes out. I think this is normal, as there seems to be a one way valve right under the fuel tank. Is this normal? Does the engine pull in the fuel with a vacuum? I can't blow air through it, and I'm really trying!
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! I'm starting to see ghosts!
