family keeps questioning my hearing acuity

Daughter was standing next to me as I was paying for a box of pastries.
Sales lady told me the price then asked, "would you like to pay for the box?"
Puzzled, I  said, "yeah I guess. How much is it?"
She said,  "how much is what?"
I said, "the box!"
She said, "our boxes are free. Would you like some tape on it?"
Half way to our car, I thought my daughter was going to wet herself....she was laughing so hard.

Then...."yes I am!"
"No you're not!"
"Yes I am!"
(getting me a hearing aid...)
"No you're not.......

Stig...... who hears what he wants to hear!

As one who is currently on his 3rd pair of hearing aids, I find it is still possible to have selective hearing

I am accused of selective hearing, also not finishing my sentences, then an hour later saying "remember I told you" when I never finished completing my conversation, but I certainly did in my mind
