2021 scooter sales in Italy
« on: September 26, 2022, 03:33:37 PM »

I'm not surprised to see the Agility sales doing so well.
The new one is a handsome scooter.
Big wheel scooters 'rule' !

When I stopped by the dealer where I bought my AK 550 I found out that he has sold 6 AK 550 since I bought mine and has one more on the showroom floor. Right next to it is a Kymco X-Town 300.
Surprised to see they both looked about the same size. In fact the X-Town was behind the AK (from my point of view but they were right next to each other) but it still looked maybe a little bigger than the AK. He has also sold a lot of Like 150i scooters during this year.

Also sunrised that Honda is the leading brand...by some margin!
Italians must be doing better than I'd expected financially.....or perhaps those Hondas are priced much lower than they were here.

MY scooter mechanic in Rome told me that the best 2, most reliable scooters came from Honda and Kymco. I have owned both and fully agree with his assesment. I absolutely loved my Honda SH-150, big wheeled scooter.

my local dealer has sold a ton of Agility 125s but the biggest reason is that they managed to get a whole container of em to sell. They are selling almost as quick as they uncrate em and 3/4 the inventory on display, is clean trade ins.

Having lived and ridden in Italy----I think the Italians are starting to prefer the more reliable Asians!

Scooter sales in UK up more than 8% in 2021 over the previous year and sales of 2 wheelers strong across the board. https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/motorbike-sales-figures/

Let’s hope newly interested riders stick with us!
Regards & ride safe,

Nice.  Would love to get the SH350i here, but I doubt it'll happen, & if it did f I doubt it'd sell well.
Sadly folks don't seem to bite on the big wheel scoots in this part of the world so much...but ya gotta dream.
