NSR: Happy Halloween~!
« on: October 30, 2022, 01:49:07 AM »

A mild, dry evening meant that our bag of 250 pcs of candy almost didn't make it through Trick or Treat night here!
It was nice to see so many kids out having fun! It has been a couple of years since it was this busy.

Not many of the neighbors behind us do T or T - so the ladies started lighting up our corner to draw them down to us. It works a treat! That bowl is almost empty here by close at 8 o'clock!

Decades ago I used to do T or T night at my widowed grandfather's house. He gave out full sized candy bars - and kept an open pack of Marlboros for the teenagers. Don't know how he never got in trouble for that!

Two years ago we moved to a singl floor home so my wife wouldn’t need to deal with stairs anymore. Little did we know a the time, the condo community we moved into has no children - thus no trick or treating. I was able to relax and watch the local footballers handily beat the southern team with no interruptions. An unexpected benefit of the community.

I enjoyed the evening when my kids were young but it has been ~30 years since my youngest was a participant. I’m afraid I might be becoming my parents.

We’re all doomed to become our parents Manc. Embrace it!

sounding like a typical American..I'm afraid to admit that I've never heard of Bonfire Night. I did a search and will add a link for others who are also not familiar with this night in the UK!

And one of the biggest bonfire parties in our county is held in our village!  Our old pooch hates fireworks, hence our decision to decamp to our quieter coastal holiday home for the weekend. Nice to have the option.

sounds very nice, I'm jealous! Who wouldn't love a vacation home on the coast in England? I love the international flavour (see what I did there?) of our little Kymco forum.
