Where's the AK550 stuff????
« on: January 02, 2023, 01:24:46 AM »
New user here.  Took delivery of my brand new AK 550 about 2 weeks ago.

I can't find an area for the AK 550!  Is there a section devoted to it?

Welcome to the forum!

No sub forum here for the AK. Nor for a few other Kymco models. That part hasn't been updated for a long time. There are actually quite a few threads/posts about that.
So I just post to General, or Technical, or Roadcraft, or...

Oh, and congrats on the new AK 550!
What color?
Is it a 2023 or 2022 model year? Really the same other than the model year designation though AFAIK.

Oooh, that's going to sting a bit to those who have the 1st Gen!
the LIKE200i stayed the same through a decade🙂 except for colors and stickers

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Have you seen or do you own the 2023 model?
I haven't seen one in person but all the pics of the USA version I have seen indicate the very same controls as the first gen, no CC, and the very same body style. The 2023 Euro 5 AK 550 Premium that is out in Europe and other countries (including the UK) does not come to the USA. That one has the redesigned button controls and body and CC as well as electric adjusting windshield and cornering ABS (the 1st gen has standard ABS). We don't get that one that I know of over on this side of the pond. There are some very easily seen differences just in the body that are hard to miss and so far all photos from KymcoUSA and at least 3 dealers where I've seen it listed (including my dealer in Iowa City) show the very same design as the 2022 model I have. Only the colors available have changed. In 2021 there were 2 color options, in 2022 there were 4 color options, and for 2023 there are again 2 color options (Matte Metallic Silver and Matte Deep Blue). The Premium only comes in 3 colors that are entirely different than the colors available in the USA (Beige, black, baby blue).

I would like to see the 2nd gen come over here to the USA. I think that would help greatly with sales. But I am entirely happy with the version I currently have. No sting here.
