Maltese Govt Initiative

Long time readers will know I have a link to Malta and often cast an eye over what's happening there. This more positive story caught my eye this week. A new EV scooter for as little as €200! I wondered if we in the UK might see similar in this week's budget? No? Thought not.
Seriously though, for a small island nation (Malta, not the UK) this is a far-sighted initiative to reduce the number of ICE cars on their overcrowded roads and I for one applaud it. Also given the tiny size of the island - I've crossed it length-ways by motorcycle in <40 mins - the range of an EV scooter shouldn't be an issue!

probably a smart move subsidizing electric transportation, there. I will admit that I had to look at a map to find Malta!

For the benefit of anyone else unsure of its location, Malta is in the Mediterranean just south of Sicily. It is geographically midway between Tunisia and Italy, with a daily ferry to Libya!

The high cost, at least for me, is the reason I don't have one in the garage.

A wonderful movie made around the 50's with Peter Sellers featured Malta. It is titled "Captain's Paradise", about a Malta ferry captain who has two wives, one in each port.

Thanks Stuo, didn’t know that. I’ll look it up if it’s available to stream.
