EasyBoost tool ordered for my AK 550

6 days ago I ordered an EasyBoost CVT variator holder tool from Motoscoot.net (in Spain) since the tool is not available from within the USA. I might have been able to cobble up a tool on my own to do the same thing but didn't want to reinvent the wheel so to speak. I didn't think I needed the rest of the bigger "kit" that included the contra spring pulley tools and clutch tools that work with the main CVT holder tool. Those will be easier to make something to work on those parts if I ever need to.

Got email today that it will arrive Friday. Not bad. 8 days shipping from order to delivery from Spain. EasyBoost is a French company that makes variator and torque drive and clutch drive tools for all brands of scooters. The only thing I don't like about ordering from companies in European or SE Asian countries is that as soon as the order clears the doors of that company and is handed over to the shipper they mark the order as "Complete" when here in the USA it is not considered really complete until the item is delivered to the destination customer who ordered it. I like our system better but I do understand why they do that in Europe or SE Asia. It's that they cannot manage any liability for anything once the shipper has it whereas here in the USA it seems a company does have some influence with the shippers. At least with UPS, Amazon, FedEx and a few other common shippers.

I need this tool to assist with or make it easier to replace the CVT belt during the next service interval at 12,000 miles. Still in warranty so I want to be sure to do that maintenance on time. Will see what condition the original belt is in when I do this. If the belt is in really good condition I will then have a spare on the shelf.

Just received my new variator pulley holder tool to make it easier to replace the CVT belt in almost 3000 miles. The service interval to replace this belt is every 12,000 miles... officially. This is not the final drive belt which will last a LOT longer. I already ordered the belt 3 months ago and already have it on the shelf. This tool will ensure no damage to the variator pulley from anything I cobble up to do the job.

I ordered just the tool alone from Motoscoot.net in Spain on Apr 6 and it was delivered via DHL today, Apr 14. As a surprise to me is that they included the 2 bolts with nuts to also hold the other pulley in the CVT! Motoscoot didn't show those included. There is a much more complete "kit" that also includes the pulley spring compression tools and a clutch tool as well but I didn't want to spend that much and figured I could more easily cobble up something that will work fine for those parts.

This tool is made by EasyBoost.fr, a French company, and that company makes tools for clutch and CVT and transmission work on many motorcycles and scooters.

One photo shows the tool with the 2 bolts installed. There are 2 nuts on each bolt to space out to fit close to the contra spring pulley hub.
And the other photo shows this tool on the variator pulley. If you look closely you can see the 2 holes on the hub of the other pulley where the 2 bolts would fit to hold that one.
