Coil going bad?

Hi guys  Two weeks ago my People Gti 125 died on deceleration at a traffic light. Then it was hard to restart but in the end it started. Since then all fine, but today I had the check engine light giving me error code for the coil (at least what my service manual says).
Should I measure coil resistance just to prevent the total failure?
Could it be a too old spark plug (it has 5k miles on it)?

Hi Faber 32.
Start with inexpensive things to change!
One by one: to find the culprit
-sparkplug
-sparkplug cap
-ignition cable
Then we will see.
