Like 150i, Turn Signal Bulb
« on: June 20, 2023, 02:48:34 PM »
Yesterday I open up all the turn signal housing to check the bulbs. As I suspected, they are incandescent 'Phillips 12093'. Now someone is going to say "But everyone already knew that". I did not and evidently neither does Kymco. The User's Manual and the Service Manual both say LED.

I also removed the seat/pet carrier and the rear fender top cover so I could measure the inside of the battery box. I was trying to determine why the battery does not fit properly in the box. Turns out it does fit if one pushes it firmly inside the box. The problem is that there is nothing but a flimsy ABS strap to hold it there. I have added a bit of paracord. It is not a suitable long term solution but a vast improvement on what Kymco has provided.

Bad news is that that rear fender cover is held on by two little plastice 'do-dads' and some 6 plastic tabs. Three of those tabs broke. Now I am looking for another 'fix'.

All this is in an effort to update the specifications sheet on my website. Kymo's 'Electrical Diagram' is crap. I do not recall my 2006 People 250 having all these problems/inconsistencies but I am a half blind senile old fart.
The more I learn the more obvious the immensity of my ignorance becomes.
