I find the ride at both ends a lot smoother than on my previous 4 bikes. A 2005 Burgman 650, 98 Honda ST1100, 2014 Honda CTX1300, 2013 Burgman 650. From what I can remember of my Gold Wing (GL1500) the ride is very comparable but the Wing just might win overall on suspension. Just IMO.
I also usually keep the psi in my tires a little higher than the manufacturers suggest on ALL my bikes. My tires last a little longer that way and I really don't notice any significant difference in the ride. Oh, and front tire cupping (some call it scalloping) is almost totally eliminated doing that. On my AK I keep the TPMS for the front showing 37.3-37.8 and the rear showing 40.0-40.5. I had 6670 miles on the front when I swapped it out and 8303 miles on the rear when it was replaced. Both tires were just barely worn to the wear bars and might have been able to go another 600-800 miles... maybe. Tire pressure does affect the ride. Never go below the recommended psi.
