I watched the eclipse here in western Oregon this morning through a gray cloud blanket with one of my telescopes. I could at least see the moon and sun but not as spectacular as the total eclipse back in 2017. Part of being an amateur astronomer is dealing with conditions you get!

We got about a 41% eclipse here in SW Ohio at @1:10pm EST, or so.
It was also visible through passing clouds, which made it pretty cool if you knew to look up.
My daughter bought the special glasses - which actually had today's eclipse date on them - at a toy store in Y.S.
I think they say the next is in April 2024.

She took the opportunity to hand them to some of the passing street fair crowds.
They all thought it was pretty neat to see.

A lot of folks were puzzled-looking at the few of us looking up at the sky :)

When you look up you are supposed to get excited and point too! That'll make others look up just because you are.  ;D

A bit rainy/misty here with total cloud cover so no view to look at.

See that blue topped stand?
I was on the Group W bench when a passing kid asked his mom what that thing was for.
I offered...."It's for invisible stuff. Looks like it's about full."

The mom laughed - the kid looked at me like I was stupid. Well, I was sitting on the Group W.....
