Top Speed run on my 11 yr old LIKE 200i LX
« on: October 13, 2023, 05:42:25 PM »
(birthday of my LIKE is April, 2012 - per plate on the frame - bought new & registered for the road April 2013)

On an open stretch of a 55mph state route at 6:00AM this morning - the speedometer eventually climbed to where I've drawn it in this photo.

Just not quite touching 60MPH.....so maybe 54 actual?
My tachometer registered top engine speed of 7050. (max is supposed to be 7,250 - maybe would have on a down hill stretch?)

My scooter continues to accelerate briskly to @50MPH - VERY brisk off the line!
Drivetrain mods are 14 gm Dr Pulley sliders , and an iridium NGK spark plug.

Riding on newer City Grips - (CG II one end. Forget which) probably properly inflated.
SHELL Nitro.

My LIKE continues to be a trouble free scooter.
Very comfy now that I've removed the stock seat!

Well look who is getting a little bit spicy these days?! Did you go into a full tuck? That's kind of required for a maximum speed run!

Glad you didn't take the pic at speed...and how many miles are on your scoot?? The 2nd digit in is not readable...is it 19K? 18? 12K?

Hawk, I can’t see Stig folded into full racing crouch can you?!  😂

My bet’s on 19K

For charity? I’d pay to see it!

sorry Hawk - missed your question...

Yeah, that's a 9...for 19,572.
I see in my posts that I hit 4,000 miles on December 13, 2013 - @ 7 mos after purchase.
In the following summer I picked up another scooter - and following this period the LIKE has always split riding times/mileages with a 2nd scooter. (Honda Froza, Burgman 400, then a Liberty 150)

Regardless of the speed - I sit up in my scooters ...like a 6th grader waiting to see the Vice Principal.

exact same speed I can get out of my 2020 like 200i. mine is completely stock except for some hand guards and a small windscreen for NY winters. only 2600 miles though

Yep.
I always kinda figured my Shell 93, Dr P's and the Iridium plug were  working just like a good placebo🙃

Thanks for your confirmation....I've seen all kinds of speed claims for our scooter.
