That's the one thing I dislike about my new ('23) People S 150. The fuel tank is only 1.6 gallons. Supposed to get 80+ MPG, but it's still not broken in yet. I'm always topping it off way before the gage is that low.

that's 50% (½gal) more than the K-Pipe's 1.1 gallon, it is tiny even for the 125cc that sips about a gallon every hundred miles.

Worse bike I ever came across for range was a pal's Suzuki TL1000S which had a tank range of 90 miles max when used spiritedly!  We quickly learned where all the fuel stations were in remote areas.

BTW, when googling for the exact model number, I was reminded of the fact it became known as the "Widow maker":  The Suzuki TL1000S was introduced by Suzuki in 1997 in order to compete with the Ducati 916 in World Superbike Championship. A prominent journalist was killed on a TLS during a tank-slapping incident with his wife as a witness. This earned the bike its reputation of a widow maker.

(In a circular twist of fate, it was a Ducati 748 which my pal died on.)

I have a friend that used to have a TLS, lot of helium in the front tire, He ran out of gas in 75 miles once.

OK, I know I said I wouldn't, but I'm approaching the end of this tankful so I'm going for 220!  Any bets on it out there?  Should be able to let you know in about a week.

(I'm a wuss though so I've stashed a litre of fuel in the top case!)

Hawk, you're a baaad influence!
Wasn't there a caution about running an EFI until empty?
Plus, overheating an in-tank fuel pump?

I'll take advice on that!

Academic at the moment as I'm taking advantage of good weather to give the Triumph a few runs...

Final Update:  I pulled onto the station forecourt after the engine had begun stuttering (or was that my imagination?) with 211.1 miles on the odometer and it took 12.11 litres to brim it on the centre stand.  So, 0.39l left in the tank ish!  Indicates I could have cracked the 220 mark, maybe, but that was close enough for my nerves.  I now know that a 200 mile range is a workable assumption and my experiments on determining absolute range are hereby ended.  It's been informative though.

Ran out of gas one time, only. ( I was just getting used to a VW that had lousy gas mileage - like 14-16mpg sometimes)
New 1980 Vanagon. Slow lane 1-70.
Exit ramp right there, in front of me!
Took it out of gear and coasted,  and there was a Shell station at the bottom of the ramp!
Rolled in there in Stealth Mode!

I ran out of gas in my Vanagon once, bout a mile from a gas station, had about a half gallon of 50:1 mix chainsaw gas, smoked but got me to the gas station

Funny you mention that Randy.  My litre bottle of fuel was old 20:1 2T dirt bike mix which I emptied in before topping it back up with clean new unleaded. Figured it would make the DTX smell nice!
