Recommend tire press monitor caps??
« on: September 18, 2024, 04:08:40 PM »
Anyone able to recommend a certain brand of tire pressure monitoring valve stem caps?
If these things are reliable and trouble free - I think I'd like to try them on my scooters.
Crawling around on the floor, finding angles that work with my air gauges.....is not my favorite thing🙂
Thank you!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

that's an issue with 10 & 12 inch wheels, the 14"s on my AK550 are more effort bending over than the 17"s on my K-Pipe. I find the wheel with the stem in the 4 o'clock position is easiest to check & air up, I have 90° air chucks

tireminder.com looks promising, although I couldn't find pricing for their motorcycle system. They appear to be big in motorhome and trailer tire  monitoring. 2 larger caps that screw on your stem that transmit tire pressure to a phone app. You can get alerts if they fall below a certain threshold.

Amazon is full of cheapies that are just caps preset to between 32-40 psi. They will go from green to yellow to red as pressure drops.

I was laughing at myself the other day...checking tire pressure on Nighthawk, 32 psi is target, both were at 31.5. It took everything I had to not grab the pump and add the additional .5 lb of air! (I did the next time I rode as they were both down a full 1 pound, unacceptable!)  8)
