5000 miles
« on: September 30, 2024, 12:32:14 AM »
just turned 5000 miles on my leftover 2020 like. took a road trip to Maine from upstate NY and ran perfect. I think it's just getting broken in. we ran through the mountains so 55 mph was about our top speed. only complain is the small gas tank. My wife rides a Vespa 300 and she's at 1/2 tank when I'm out. averaged around 70mpg and would do it all over again. great scooter

Good for you!
Thanks for your post.
Help me out ...I've forgotten when the 200i was phased out for the 150i.
Which is yours?

mine is a 2020 like 200i
I think this is the last year. glad I got it when I did. I thought to be a good price at 3k out the door. had to wait a long time, was beginning to think it wasn't coming. has been great, just adjusted the valves last week. not much difference but good check

by the way, thanks for the repair videos for the 200i. that's how I got the valves adjusted. only took me about 45 minutes. I remember my Honda pcx150 was a 4 hour job. if you read the pcx forum, not many do them. I'm thinking my Honda super cub125 will be a lot easier

Good for you!
I sometimes think I should probably buy another NOS LIKE200i from a dealer who hasn't sold it.
The think it is such a good scooter.
Just so friggin reliable and starts instantly
in all temps and any weather!

A couple of modifications I made were to silver paint the top of the headlight lens due to the glare at night. I'm 6'3" and the light was in my eyes.
And at battery replacement time I went to YUASA spec page and bought a 14Ah of size which would slip right into the LIKE's battery box. All I had to do was trim 5mm off of the two hold-down posts under the batter box cover because the new battery was that much taller.. A little extra insurance for starts on a 20°F days when I'm miles away and ready to head home :)
Oh, and I ran in an Iridium NGK plug - it seemed to strengthen (increase) the idle, nice feeling when sitting in heavy traffic, surrounded by cars at stop lights. At least a 50% chance that is my imagination.

I think I pd $3200 OTD in 2013 for my new 2012 LX.
Great scooters!

Enjoy and keep us posted with your rides --- we love photos here!

Regards, Stig

I'm really happy with this scooter. you seem to be making yours last forever. If mine goes, I'll use my Honda super cub 125 more. The Kymco is keeping me away from it. last fill up on the super cub I got 133 MPG! very nice ride but I'm 5 6". anyone tall, I'd recommend the aftermarket long seat. I'd be curious of who has the most miles out of one, It might be you

Years ago, I followed the LIKE club in the Philippines. Those guys put a lot of miles on their 125cc LIKE's! Group rides every time I checked in on them.

For the past 10 years my LIKE200i has shared ride miles and ride times, 50/50, with one other scooter. First a new Forza, then a new Burgman 400, now the 155cc Liberty. I have enjoyed each - while this Kymco just keeps motoring on!

I've never really had more than 2 scooters in the garage - except one time while waiting for the shipper to pick up my Burgman. A fellow on the Burgman forum purchased it from me - then had it shipped about 2,400 miles to him in Portland, OR!

These guys strapped it on a skid...and away it went.
