I have been having battery problems with the 24V 10AH Lion batteries in my Kymco K-Lite Model F Mobility Scooter amongst other issues like total brake failure and drive failure. Luckily my spare battery decided to refuse to charge at all, 2 days within its one year warranty and the supplier (Active Mobility) was very helpful unlike the ghastly company I bought the scooter from (Orange in Lewes), who lied to Kymco telling them that the brake failure which they repaired, had never happened. Their engineer who collected the broken scooter thought it was probably a failed Woodruff key in the final drive. It was only through sheer good luck that the friend walking beside me managed to grab the seat of the scooter and bring it to a halt, when the brakes failed, that I avoided serious injury, as I was at the top of a long steep hill in Dieppe, with a street market at the bottom. I got either my battery mended or a reconditioned replacement back within a few days from Active Mobility - excellent service.
This morning I got the scooter out of my car, with the help of our handyman and after activating the battery it drove into our back hall/Utility room with no problems. I got the charger out and changed its plug to UK (I last used it during a long weekend break in Vienna) and checked the replacement/repaired battery, which was showing fully charged. I then went to the battery in the scooter which I knew was down to two yellow lights when I finally got back to my car at Heathrow valet parking. I did not have the spare battery with me in Vienna, as it was away being repaired or replaced at that time. When I came to charge my original battery today, it would not charge, even though it worked in the scooter a few minutes earlier. The battery showed one green and one red light which my manual says is low temperature. Odd that the battery worked in the scooter.
