Some say it was Daniel Boone who was captured, and then escaped death at the hands of the Shawnee by leaping across this gorge.
Seems like every few years the remains of some egghead are fished, not without some difficulty, from the gorge after trying to copy ol' Dan.

*the nearby Clifton Mill restaurant is famous for its Xmas light display....and for serving buck-wheat pancakes that hang over a full sized dinner plate. Skip eating for a couple of days before you order these babies - and don't drink water afterwards - causes them to swell and you'll do yourself an injury!
