similar conditions here within 30 miles of coast in NH, southern Maine, we've had enough snow & freezing rain, the roads have had a few doses of salt in one form or another  I had my truck undercoated, before I ride my bikes in this, a treatment of ACF50 is in order, I learnt the hard way, my V-Strom 1000 caught the green cancer of the wire harness, tried finding a used harness, but everything I looked at was compromised in one way or another, went with the new nearly $1k part, salt dust gets everywhere

@Neil, looks like you're back on your turf! It deems to me you have a certain lack of a front mudguard, or its the angle?
Edit:
Thought of having no (minimized) mudguard there in front might cake scoots undernose electric pretty much, particularely when driven on salty roads.

Geez, ruffus - you're correct!
They fitted only a minimalist bit of ? to keep rocks out of the radiator.



I put a 4" "fender extender" made for my Burgman 400 on the rear of the front fender. But never seen a design where one might be the needed on the leading edge! Nice looking scooter, though - if in need of a shower

Ruffus - Yeah, just the angle it's an enduro wanna be with that minimalist mudguard!  My least favourite design feature of the scooter.

Ah yes, didn't tjink of that. A Downtown or XCiting mudguard might do as a substitute just in case you are in need for.

Yep, I too forgot about that knobby for hill climbs and motocrossing. Maybe a bit of Trials riding?
A front fender would get hung up going through shrubbery.

Reminds me of our bud's week-old new Honda CL 350....which we all but destroyed in a 24 hr enduro down in Texas one summer.* It was the "off-road" version of the CB street bike....because it had the two pipes swept up, motocross like, away from the road to burn your left calf. We beat that exhaust off around 2AM...the blue flames coming across the prairie alerted the relief rider in time to finish his beer and look for his helmet in the dark..

The next day I cried like a little girl while my wife used a needle to dig the cactus bits out of my heel. My red low-quarter Keds didn't offer much protection from prairie vegetation.
Yep - it's all down to the treads, fenders and pipes....when you go off-road on your way to Walmart.
