1st ride in 2025
« on: February 01, 2025, 02:59:28 AM »
almost missed January.
Some snow about, clear roads, in and out of rain.
hit a massive pothole, on a dark residential street - fortunately at about 20mph. Still, almost took me down.

auto-carrier

rained going home

and then a wash and dry, and back on the battery tender

two thoughts:
that pot hole appearing on a dark, but well-known street, was pretty unsettling
dark temp was "feels like 34°F" and wet - glad I went 5 layers above my waist, used mid heat setting on the gloves

....and to be honest, was feeling a little less than full confident heading out into the cold, wet, dark - after 30 days out of the saddle! Once I hit the boonies .... all was well!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

glad you were able to get in a January ride! I know what you mean about not riding for a while, it takes just a bit to get back in the groove. Invisible potholes are one of many reasons I don't ride in the dark!

I've ridden that street for 12 years in the village. It is an upscale neighborhood - so it sure was a surprise.
After 12 years - I can sit here now and tell you where every bit of rough road is between my house and my Group W bench :)
I chose my route years ago to take only the best, smoothest, route because the LIKE hates rough roads!
