VERY windy this morning! - this not my best idea
« on: March 05, 2025, 06:24:21 PM »

Decided to take a different route for the coffee ride.
Apparently I forgot all about the high winds I was riding in!
Nearly a mile of old growth trees ahead....

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

D'you know, in those circumstances Stig, I take the view "if my number's up..."  These trees ain't fallen in 100+ years, what are the odds it'll come down just as I'm underneath?  It's worked for me so far...
Regards & ride safe,

Must add, I've seen a motorcyclist on his back after he hit a fallen branch on a windy day. The branch was about 3' long, and maybe 2" thick. It was in the road just after a 40mph corner.
I watched as they loaded him in the squad.
His bike sheared off a mailbox post.

few years back, I had a LARGE White Pine limb fall in the road in front of me while riding my SV650, it stretched all the way across both lanes, probably 6-8"  diameter with smaller branches branching off, like a flattened Christmas tree.

I had no time to react, ran right over it, lucky, I think if I had reacted, I woulda crashed
