After market exhaust without rejet/upjet

I've been thinking about this for a while,my stock exhaust has a catalytic converter in it,and I know it's very restricted.I'm thinking of installing tecnigas or Leo vince exhaust without messing with the carbs jets or rejet,Has anyone here done this?Is it safe for engine?when I talked to my dealer they said it's ok  ?and i also read in this forum that it will cause the bike to run lean and might cause engine damage,what is the truth?My bike is Yup/Sting 50 2009 model.Advance thanks for advise..

Changing out the exhaust you should be fine without much problems.  I changed out my S200 exhaust without upjetting and did not once have an issue.  However, if you go to upgrade your intake for any reason, you need to make sure you upjet at least one step.  Changing the intake and exhaust will increase the airflow through the engine by quite a bit, upjetting will compensate the change in airflow.

Sproket is spot on - As long as you stick with the stock airbox, no rejetting is normally needed.  However, to get the most benefit from your upgrade, you'll want to change to a K&N air filter (or equivelent) - At that pont rejetting will be necessary

Spr & Whisper thanks once again for the advise,Spr how much power mph did you gain for your exhaust upgrade,I wonder if it's worth the money.I'm on the verge of ordering a tecnigas for$160..

The top end increased a good 5mph but the real difference was in the acceleration.  The take off was much faster and throttle response felt quicker.  I was going to dive into the variator/rollers, belt, clutch next... but I went up in CCs instead.

To me that's a lot of improvement,with my cdi and boss derestricted my speed on level is currently 35-37mph,uphill is 25-30,downhill is 40-45mph,my aim is 40mph on level,I think the exhaust upgrade is worth it.I'm not thinking of messing with the stock intake or jets,I still wanna keep my 100mpg.

I just ordered me a tecnigas exhaust,Hoping to get that extra mph.I'll let you know how it turns out....Whisper while waiting I'll try to cut that dead end;ghost pipe and see what it does....

I think Sproket set you up for success!  That technigas should definitely improve your performance - And if you want to continue upgrades, you'll have a solid foundation to amplify the returns on your efforts.

 I have an agility 50 that has the cdi cut,variator changed and 5.5gr rollers. Are you saying I can put on a performance exhaust and do nothing else and gain performance? I really dont want to get into big bore kits,upjetting or airfilter. I would like to keep it simple.

If your agility 50 is a 4 stroke all it will do is make it louder . Good luck .

 2 stroke should gain performance,but for 4stroke it's mainly the look and sound change.
