Anyone do any touring on a Xciting? What do you use for luggage. Givi Top Case? Any Soft Luggage?

That's a very good question ! I don't like to put stuff on top of my scooter but I am afraid I will have to.
I have a brand new Xcitin R300i and love it, so far!.
Only thing I must criticize is such a little room under the seat. I don't understand why every other similar scooter has much bigger one.
I am 6'3'' (almost) and I was wondering about having a new higher seat  to replace the original one.
Glad to read your opinions and if any of you guys have suggestions .

I ended up just straping a small MX bag to the rear rack. With that, underseat storage and small thor backpack I was set. Next time I probably will not take as much stuff.

That 300i sounds nice!

I used a gel pad which picked me up slightly. I have the opposite problem of you though (no inseam). The gel pad sure made things bearable though.

I just had a hard trunk put on. It is a VIP trunk that I ordered through A1hardbags.com (http://a1hardbags.com/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=4). It is very roomy. I can put in a full size modular helmet. I really like the lights. The LED lights move on the spoiler while my headlights are on (all the time) and then are a very bright red when I hit the brake lights. The turn signal lights are also the right height for a car behind me to see well. I really feel that adding this trunk on increased my visibility greatly. I also didn't realize how much I am really liking the additional storage. My bike is the charcoal gray color and the silver gray trunk looks just perfect on the back. It comes with an integrated back rest for passengers. I took my kid on it this weekend and it made a huge difference for him to lean against the backrest instead of hanging on to me. I was able to balance the bike and had better control on the twists and corners. I really like it.

I have a Givi E33 top box which is sort of small.  I try to keep it empty so I have a convenient place to lock up my helmet and gloves at stops.  I also have Tourmaster Cortech Sport saddle and tail bags.  On long trips such as this, I replace the tail bag with a medium sized wheeled duffle bag bungeed to the passenger seat (makes a nice backrest, too, if you pack it right).

A word of caution if you don't already know this.  The rain covers that come with soft luggage will blow off at highway speeds and are best left at home.  If you want your stuff to stay dry, put everything in small trash bags before packing into your luggage.  Zip lock bags work well for small items such as your registration and insurance cards, gas receipts, etc.

Yes, look at
http://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=639.0
You see a tunnel bag where I store drink, food, camera etc., things easy to grab.
Not on the pictures (left in hotel) is my 46 litre Kappa top case, its ground plate directly mounted to the rear bar. It will hold our 2 helmets.

I need a little something for the scoot - the A1 trunk looks sharp and momontheloose sounds as if she has had good luck with hers - has anyone else had good experiences with any reasonably priced trunks out there?
