i hate hills...

hello
i have to kymco super 8 4 stroke 50cc
i have put an 88 jet in with 24mm carb and an open air filter....but....
it still struggls to go up hills!!!!
it is really anoying
is there anything else i can do to make it better at going up hills?

I am not trying to be a sarcastic when I say you should trade your 50cc in on a larger scoot or motorcycle . I just don't think you will ever be happy with it , or any 50cc . Good luck .

2stroke it?  Replace the motor with a 150cc?

4 stroke is rough to squeeze more power out of.  2 stroke is a different story.  Just toss on a bigger cylinder and go go GO!

Depends. In some U.S. states, no license is required for a <50cc scooter. If that's your situation, you'll want to stick to the letter of the law, or you risk impounding of the scooter, and possible time in jail.

In states like Tennessee, you have to have a valid driver's license to ride anything with a gas-powered motor in it, period.

I've seen some 2T 50s get up to 43mph with more oomph than some 4T 150s.  Granted those bad boys were modded a bit with some custom work to get them to that point.  Most 50cc scoots are hard pressed to get above 35.  So perhaps you could trade out your 50cc 4T for a 50cc 2T.  Might have to look for a year or two older scooter, but it would be much more power than what you have.  Out of the gate, the 2Ts have almost twice the power.

a 50cc scooter cant go above 31mph, by law
mine goes 45mph

Fun story.

My friend and I souped up a pair of Twist N' Goâ„¢ 50cc scoots.  Large, high compression cylinder, CF reeds, big carb, new exhaust, new variator/wights/springs.

Bloody hell was it fast.  Like 60-70mph fast.  Too fast for the chassis and brakes fast.  Wheelies!

So my mate was making a run to the Quick-E-Mart, and blazing about at WOT.  And a cop snagged him.

He was clocked at 66 in a 45. 

The cop came over and gave him the bad news.  My buddy looked at the cop quizzically and said - "Are you sure?  This thing is a cheap 50cc scoot.  I don't think it could EVER hit 45, let alone go over 45!  Are you sure you got the right person?".  After a few Q&As about the scoot, the Po-po let him go - sans ticket/warning!

I cannot imagine the police dept with the funding to definitively prove the displacement.  I'm pretty sure 'scooter crime' isn't menacing enough to warrent their own CSI department. 

Eventually, we both ended up selling the scoots.  It was just too much to drive safely.  And we were lucky to hit 40mpg.  HA!
