Ok, so I got in from work today and my race variator and rollers were here so I rushed out to the garage and fitted them. Couldnt even wait till scoot had cooled from ride home from work so used a cloth to remove the hot old variator.

Anyway I tried new race variator with new 7.5g rollers and noticed immediatly that I hae no flat spot like I had before at 25-30mph, just a smooth and steady climb up to speed. Got to my previous max speed on the flat instead of needing a hill!!!  Around 43mph or 72-73kph. Went to a hill I used to max out at 43mph on and I got it to 80kph or 50mph!! Result.  Reckon I wouldve gone a little faster too if I never had a bend to brake for at the bottom.
Came home and tried the 5.5g rollers I had before in it and it is a little better accelerating than the 7.5g rollers were, not amazing better but im sure better. So im leaving as is now and will try tomorrow morn on my usual route to work to compare it more closely.
All in all im happy now tho, much better power all round, no flat spots, better acceleration and better top speed. May end up changing to 1000rpm clutch springs but not right now, im leavin as is for a while, no cash left now anyway. ;D Well happy for a 20 quid variator and £5 rollers.
Chaos is my co-pilot.

Been trying it out now for a few days and scoot is definately much better now with new parts on it. I reach top speed much smoother and quicker, with no flat spots, can get it up to over 70kmh on short stretches of road where I couldnt before. Going to leave it alone now for a few months at least. May eventually change the springs and will fit a sports exhaust once I rind a cheap 2nd hand bargain on ebay, no rush.

Heres what Ive done again anyway if anyone want to know.

Cdi cut,
Changed variator boss to unrestricted one,
Changed main jet to #82,
Fitted a chinese clone race variator, got mine cheap from scooter assassins,
Fitted 5.5g rollers.

Also may try 4.5g rollers later too just to see if it gets even better acceleration, but for now im done tinkering, at least for a month or 2. Was well worth the changes, my scoot now runs far nicer and I can easily keep up in traffic etc. Top speed on clock says around 76-78kmh on flat and over the 80 mark downhill, was amazed to see dial go off the guage, didnt thk it would. Think the stock variator was restricting my top speed downhill before.
Chaos is my co-pilot.
