I hate my new Super 8 50
« on: May 17, 2011, 08:40:38 PM »
I just got a barely used 2010 Kymco Super 8 50 4 stroke and I also have a 2011 Chinese "tao tao" scooter. I leave the Kymco chained up to a poll in hopes someone will steal it because its so slow. It might go 25-28mph tops and going up a hill it struggles to do maybe 15mph. On the 4 stroke which wire can I cut (or see if its already cut) on the CDI & how hard is it to change out the main jet & what helps the most on speed or power?? Im here in the US and my scooter was only used at the Indy500 track as a pit crew bike so its practically new... its sad that id rather be on my tao tao than the kymco but if I have to ride the Super 8 Im gonna need to install a "Emergency flashers" mod because this is ridiculous! ???

Help PLEASE! otherwise... For Sale: red/black 2010 super 8 50 4stroke that struggles to get out of its own way.

i hope  this  will help.  i have  a  2t  super 8  50 .  i had my mechanic  replace my  70  jet  with  an  80  jet (came with scoot)  and  repalced the boss. I went  from  barley doing  30  to  doing  40-43mph.
good luck  bro!

Sounds about right for a restricted scoot. If you search on the search tab at the top of the page you will find loads of info on de-restricting your scooter. Jus limit he search in the super 8 section for best results.

I have an Agility 50, dont know if its the exact same engine, its a 50cc 4stroke, the 2 biggest gains I got were changing the variator boss and fitting a race variator, I gained around 18mph just on those 2 jobs. Also change your rollers to lighter ones, cut the cdi and upjet your carb. You should hit near 50mph on the clock then, I do, even 50+ mph downhill!

you also have to keep in mine that the body frame on kymco scoots are bigger then some of the smaller chineses scoots so we have to learn to find a way to make a hefy scoot go faster. its like a 250 pound man trying to out run a 100 pound man. lol    but true.

Just remember if you do get it going faster to upjet your carb or you wont be going faster for long before you break.

More speed=more fuel needed=more fun :)
More speed+no more fuel=broken scoot=no fun :(
