Hey Kymco! Listen Up!
« on: June 09, 2011, 03:23:41 PM »
Hey Kymco!

We like your scooters but getting parts is difficult and confusing.
It would save us all a lot of headaches if you would just post information on engine parts, where to get shop manuals, etc.
Make your products even better by offering good on-line support!

Cheers

I empathise, but i don't think Kymco reads this forum! How about we get a petition together, and send it to Kymco HQ asking for better support?

They are not there to make products better and make you happy, but to increase revenue and profit.
Their way is keeping spare parts and servicing under strict control, thus achieving high margins that would otherwise be jeopardized by competition.
Obviously their company policy is to do it this way and not provide "superior" service/products to their customers. Somebody calculated that this will pay off more.

If you take a look at Stadium Yamaha and similar German and Italian Kymco spare parts sites, you will  notice the price is the same (equally high) everywhere.
Also, the issue with Kymco spare parts and their high price and low availability is omnipresent all over the world.

Axy has a point, kymco will prob just thank us for our interest and file the petition under recycle bin.

I now try buy my parts from a bike breakers yard since the kymco dealer wanted nearly £70 for a new regulator/rectifier, didnt even have it in stock, 3 day wait. I declined and got one next day for £12 from the breakers, worked fine, still does. Their prices are way too high and their labour charges are a joke too.

I couldn't believe how much an OE exhaust for my r16 was £670! Thank goodness there are other suppliers.

x 2 But guess what kymco does read the fourm. I just got a letter from a kymco Rep. she was a little upset I think because I bad talked the warrenty kymco has. she was nice about it and to let her know if there is anything she can do. I told her to make sure the dealers that seals kymco take warranty leasons.
and good respect to there custumers.

Woah blue, didnt think they would've bothered, good they did it tho, cool.

Did I ever say that I am a bigshot bike and scooter reviewer for all the major scooter and bike magazines? Yup and im also a test rider for ducati too so if kymco want to send me some new prototype scooter or bikes to try then I am willing to do it free of charge if I can keep them :)

Just P.M me Mr Kymco and I will give you my address for delivery, thanks ;D

Axy has a point, as usual, but I do think that Kymco can increase profit by offering a bit more info on their products.
Yes, they would need to devote a small portion of revenue to a small team to do this.  I'm not asking for on-line or phone-in support, just a shout out to us do it yourself types.
I could get parts for my Yamaha FZ1, OEM or aftermarket for just about anything.  Service manuals were likewise easy to find.
Having a strong aftermarket and parts availability can only strengthen a brand, in my opinion.
The folks who take their rides into the shop the minute that something goes wrong, will always do so.
I don't see any loss in profit for Kymco to step up and give us a little of the inside scoop.
Also, I can't believe that Kymco does not have an eye on this forum...

A big, "RIGHTON!" for Steve and the rest of you guys! Kymco USA needs to pull its collective head out. Dealers who are unresponsive, incompetent or just lazy. Parts support that is virtually non-existent. Yager200i, I think is the one that provided us with a Dink parts breakdown is more helpful than any dealer I have contacted and he ain't the only one. Kymco NEEDS to read this forum AND act upon what is in here. Dealers can cry all they want about we who successfully maintain and repair our own machines and "steal" their repair business. They can moan about Kymco policies. We stay away from their pricing and lousy service. I get so, SO tired of platitudes from US companies like Kymco USA that promise that "your call is very important to us" from a recording on HOLD. Vivian has been very helpful to me in prying a dealer off his dead center to send me the battery cover/clamp he missed in his setup of my 200i but she is in the minority. I am still waiting for the proper screws to hold the thing in place. I DON'T CARE IF KYMCO USA IS UNDERSTAFFED AND OVERWORKED! IT IS NOT MY PROBLEM! WHEN WILL THEY GET IT?

Whew! There. I,m done, thanks.....

Hey Jenny,

Why don't you offer the readers of this fine forum a 10% or 15% discount on parts or free shipping on every order like some other forums do? For example: the Scout Dawg forum.

I sounds me you'd like to drum up some business.

Think about it

Now that discount deal does sound like a good plan shalbern. I know I would order if delivery and parts were cheaper.
