Exhaust
« on: June 19, 2011, 01:11:28 PM »
I was looking at my scoot today and noticed a flange welded into the exhaust pipe with a bolt screwed into it between the motor and muffler on the straight pipe. The bolt dont go far enough into the pipe to restrict it. Does anyone know what purpose this serves? I pulled the bolt out and it didnt seem to make any difference except exhaust came out of there also (and it was slightly louder)  Nothing in the service manual either. Just curious if it serves any purpose.

Blues right, think its to put a probe in to measure exhaust gasses. I read some folk like to leave it out for the extra noise, not sure if doing this affects performance any.
Chaos is my co-pilot.
