Rear Shocks
« on: July 18, 2011, 06:31:43 PM »
Hi am i the only one who thinks the rear shocks are too stiff. They are on the lowest setting for spring tension, but seem so stiff. Does anyone have any ideas. I weigh 196 ?.

The stated amount, 29 psi ?. When you sit on the scooter, the shocks don't move at all ?.

You can usually purchase just the springs and replace them.  Check on the web under the shock name and see if they offer replacement springs.

I agree that the rear shocks are "too stiff" as you say.
If I had an extra $250 I would invest in some after market shocks that are more adjustable.
However, if I had the money, I would probably be riding a bigger scooter or motorcycle.
You can always do my $5 seat pad mod, which helps a bit.

Went out and tried them again. When i lay across the rack on the scooter they do not give, the tire flattens some. They seem way too stiff a spring. I guess Kymco is making sure it will carry two. I am thinking of looking at a Cycle Salvage, will need to measure everything up. I agree to buy new shocks would defeat the purpose of buying a used scooter in the first place.
