Valve stem cap removal
« on: August 14, 2011, 05:53:40 PM »
Hello guys.  I am just wondering if there is a special tool to remove the valve stem caps from the tires?  Mine don't seem too twist off and the cap itself infers using a thick flat head screw driver?
So, should I go buy this thick flathead screwdriver? or is there another specialized tool for the job.
Thanks,
J

I would use whatever is needed including pliers and just replace the valve stem caps after if needed . Good luck .

Pliers to remove, then don't tighten the cap too much when installing, no pliers for install.

The design of the cap is to allow the removal of the valve stems using the "screwdriver slot" of the cap.

They are strange looking caps but I think they were trying to make rugged ones.
