People 50 stalls whenever you give it gas
« on: July 26, 2011, 12:30:11 AM »
Hi, wife's People 50 is idling okay but dies as soon as you give it any gas.  You can essentially keep it running unless you keep the throttle open after it cuts out.  So, it's getting some gas but just not enough.  I'm thinking either fuel pump or filter, any guesses on which I should attack first or tips on how to narrow it down.  Also, is there anything else I should be checking?

Thanks,
BB

I am having the same problem with mine. Did you ever find out what was wrong with it?

Well, not for sure but I did get it fixed.  I took the carb apart, cleaned it out, reassembled and adjusted.  Turned out fine.  I suspect the jet was clogged but that it was also out of adjustment a bit.

I used to have the same problem with my 2002 people 50 untill I started using 1 oz. per gal. seafoam additive . It's been three years now without the problems , it also stabilizes the gas . Good luck .

..it was most likely something in the bowl..had same issue on my s9, shortly after i got it running..

..sometimes it would even take off down the road before faltering..

..opened the carb and found a tiny spec of what looked some kind of seed hull...
..every mod (action) necessitates a (reaction) mod..
