Any one have Ideas on if they are going to do things to there scoot over the winter. ride time is almost over I mostly ride if I can see the road but this year I might winterrize my scoot and work on it .new brakes and all the things that are wearing down. maybe find a cheap 2 stroke to get me threw the winter.

That's's my plan for the winter winterize it and do some maintenance along with a new transmission and get it all dialed in for next summer so when it comes it will be exactly where I have wanted it.

Been wanting to do some stuff lately but my girlfriend just got a scoot and I'm afraid of delays with mods and stuff holding me up from being able to use it right now. So winter time will be the perfect opportunity.

@kenho, yup.
IF i take car to work it cost maybe $40/wk in fuel, sooter is only $10.
 Car tax is $360/yr, scooter tax is $30.
car insurance is $700/yr, scooter insurance is $180.
Thats $2000/yr saved /yr so far.
Throw in wear and tear and replacement parts etc and its so much cheaper on my scooter.

We still got a car too, wife uses it mostly and we use it for shopping etc too. I only bought my scooter to use while i rebuild my VW Beetle but i will keep riding once im done cos i love it. Already looking for a classic vespa  8)

Im in Glasgow, Scotland Kenho. Used a convertor to change to dollars so not sure if 100% acurate, think it was near 2:1 dollars to Scottish  pound. Its too bloody expensive to drive here now. We got the North Sea oil too just off our shores but the English tax everything too much so we end up paying a fortune. Sooner we get independence the better  ;D

We've had an unbearably hot summer (80 days of 100 or better and little rain).  I plan on mounting some heated grips and riding this winter.  I wish we got more snow here.  We get ice and sleet - but it is usually gone in 2 or 3 days.

We usually get at least a few weeks of good snowboarding weather in Glasgow around december or January. Were in the lowlands but if i drive about an hr or so in to the Scottish Highlands its normally good to board from around oct, nov till sometimes march or april, even had it in ok to board still in may up there. Last year we had the best snow in europe for winter sports. Hope the Highlands get it good again this year, predictions are good anyway.

Those heated grips sound like a good idea i maybe look into them myself.
