Electric UTV - Non-Kymco
« on: July 22, 2010, 10:29:32 PM »
Hey guys, was wondering if a gas powered UTV can climb a wall like this..

http://green.autoblog.com/2010/07/18/aptera-co-founder-going-epic-with-new-electric-line-up-hiring-h/#continued

Watch the video and skip to 40 seconds in. It's an electric UTV by Epic. Pretty crazy.

Been doing a little research on electrc powerd motors and they do have alot of advantages over gas and diesil. The only thing holding them back is the range at this point. The power is transfered instantly for speed and would kill most things off the line and than can also be set to a crowl without all the crazy tuneing, the motor dont care it just delivers in a well controlled manor. If we could figure out how to get some range out of one my buddy wants to do a rock crawler with it.Need some more tech and it's totaly possible!
Kymco peoples too many ;) I'm not an expert just a full time hobbiest.

..where i work, we have electric motors controlling the movement of 10 ton pieces of equipment, and can stop within 1/8 of an inch...

..we also have 6 axis robotic equipment, driven by servo motors, that can be programmed to write your name within the lines on a piece of notebook paper...
