New Member!  First post here...

I picked up my GTi 300 2 weeks ago.  I bought it the day it came in the crate and have been commuting on it ever since.  The motor is still breaking in but I am enjoying the acceleration, brakes are top notch (ss lines).

I cant find any aftermarket farkles in the US yet as its so new.  Needs a windshield from the factory IMHO.

Tyres are not the best and I'm going to probably switch em out.  Folks dont get what this bike is in the US.  They are all the rage in europe and I now know why.

The gas gauge is a little fickle with a 1/4 tank and the seat is taking some getting used to as this is my first "scooter"

Not any huge niggles.  I just dont get why they call this bike a scooter cause it's really not!  more of an auto motorcycle if ya ask me.

?????????????????????????????????????????
This cannot be.
Insanity
If this is the way Kymco treats their customers, count me out.
Imagine what they would charge for some serious repair work?.

Update: Penny has posted reasonably priced oil filters.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Kymco.
I paid 15 US$ for the oil drain plug (Chinese replacement is 20 cents with shipping, bought that one too).
Rubber stopper on the center stand is 10 US$.
Etc. etc.

welcome to the club....27 bucks is what my dealer wanted for my dt 300i oil filter.....i got an aftermarket one for 10 bucks....no leaks.....dealers prices will always be much higher on just about everything...now that you own it...you really own it...and should start researching other outlets for your needs.....you can always find stuff cheaper with a modicum of equal quality if you are willing to do the leg work and be patient.

where did you get your aftermarket filter?  Do you have a part number you can share or a link to the one you bought?  I've been looking for an aftermarket one but cannot cross reference the factory part number.
