Hello fellow Kymco Xciting owners.  I have a new 2009 Xciting 500 Smoke Sport windshield for sell, probably around $100.  I live in the So. Calif. area.

How come that you want to change?

I have the older higher stock screen, and I have my share of wind-buffeting at highway speeds, I thought that the smaller (tinted) RI-screen would move the helmet up in clean air.

Is that NOT so?

Any comments appreciated

Then I have to give up the whole idea.

Hum, Sweden, thats neat.  This Kymco forum I guess gets views from around the world.  As far as wind goes this smaller tinted sport windshield does not provide as much protection as the taller clear one, but it does make the bike look more sporty.  If you are really interested I could see how much shipping to Sweden would cost.  Do you have the Xciting 500?  What year, how do you like it?  I've had mine about 2 months, love it.

Make sure you like your new screen before you get rid of the old one.

have you tried shimming your shield to change the angle and move the air up higher?  Buy some wide rubber washers, remove the screen, put some of the rubber washers under the top of the screen mounts to aim it up higher.  Don't put the washers directly under the screen because you'll crack it.

The air closest to the sceen has a lot of turbulence which you don't want aimed at your helmet (especially not at the neck or faceshield).  But getting it up high enough to clear your faceshield (for a quieter ride) means you'll be pushing a lot of air and losing mpg.  You might try lowering your shield to see if moving the turbulence is better.  Sometimes lowering a shield AND shimming the bottom move the turbulence blast down low enough that the ride is better than with a tall screen...

If you still decide to sell your screen - I might be interested in a couple of weeks.  I'd probably be cutting it down to make a shorty.

Hi Scooter65.  I'm in central Texas (zip 78717), you're in SoCal right?

I had to go to the DMV to get the title on my trade in corrected and it is going to take 2 weeks to get it back (mid Aug).  The dealer has my trade in, and my money.  The Xciting was advertised as a 2010, but when doing the paperwork the year is actually 2009...     I'm not going to buy any accessories until I take possession of the bike in case anything else comes up...

Once I have the bike and get to take it out on a highway I'll know for sure if I want another screen so I can cut one down.  The dealer let me test ride it around the block as he was riding my trade in - but 45 and 60mph are a world of difference.  I go about 50/50 on using a larger screen to move the air blast on my bikes or going smaller.  Going smaller is better for the mpg, larger is better for day long rides.  I'm a single parent now - so the day long rides are pretty much out...  I'll give you a holler in a couple of weeks.  If you have a price you think I can't refuse - then feel free to send me a PM.
