Kymco Venox 250 issuse
« on: July 17, 2010, 02:12:05 AM »
I have had my bike in the shop twice now and i was wondering if it a fluke or did I make a bad investment. I bought it from a single owner who says that he keep up with it. So far i had the tensioner replaced and the thermostat and the coolant fan.

I had a problem with a fork, first the seal was replaced, than they realized it was the fork itself and replaced that. All work was done under warranty at no charge.
I also had my gas cap vented. Apparently most models should have a vented gas cap but mine for some reason didn't.

No significant problems like yours. Sounds like you've got some bad luck.

Bought one for my wife over the winter in MN. It only ran with the choke out. I pulled the tank, flushed it, cleaned the carbs and filled it back up. I also replaced the plugs. It will barely do forty and bogs out hard under acceleration. I'm finding out that the money I saved on buying this bike is quickly going down the drain buying expensive parts for it.

If you are having problems of lost power or bad idle or even quitting at low speeds or if the clutch is held in and the bike quits have the fuel cap checked , There should be a vent hole but some of the venox bikes had it blocked off by mistake , happened to me fixed the cap and now 20,000 km later the only problem I have had is a broken cain slider .

It's a 2006, and the previous owner didn't mention any problems. Other than apparently bad gas, which I thought was solved. I guess it's time to take it apart or bring it to the shop.
