Engine temp?
« on: May 22, 2014, 01:43:38 AM »
Hi all. Been a lurker for some months now and have had my 300 since last spring. I have about 500 miles on it now and today was the first ride of the season. I noticed that after my 15 mile ride to work at mostly 50mph+ and the same ride home that the engine temp didn't go all the way to the third bar. It only goes to the second bar. I seem to remember last summer that it always warmed completely in the first few miles. During the gauge self test when you turn the key on the last bar does light so it is functional. Just wondering what others temp gauge is reading after fully warmed up and if maybe the thermostat somehow got stuck open during the winter storage?

Stopped by Columbia Scooters in town today and confirmed that it should be running at the second bar. The tech said that if it's at the third bar that it's overheating or at least running hot. Must have remembered wrong where it was last summer.

Mine runs with two bars when fully warmed up. The temps are usually around 70. Don't know how it would be on a 90 degree day.
