people 300 valve adjust
« on: February 25, 2012, 12:41:56 AM »
900 miles and i checked the valves just to be sure all ok.

remove engine cover, seat and with a small screwdriver snap off front cover ,just take it easy. now the valve cover is right there. 4 bolts, 1 hose and loosen bolt on side.

find top dead center, remove cover on alt. cover ,use 19mm scoket to turn engine over - clockwise. check valves with .004in or .1mm. mine were all ok except 1 intake valve was tight - 003, corrected to .004in. easy to do.

also checked plug. it was very loose finger tight .color was fine , installed and tightened . all done ,next check at 3000 miles . see yea, ike

From your post, it sounds like the valves are pretty easy to get to.
Glad to hear that.
When you install spark plugs in those aluminum heads, it is always a good idea to use some anti seize compound on the threads.
Thanks for the information.
