Hello Everyone,
I'm looking for a bit of input my zx 50 has no spark to the plug ? so here is what i can say i put a volt meter on the two spades  the green wire and black with yellow stripe i removed from the coil and hit the starter button volt meter is reading 40 -41 volts but no fire at the plug,i got a new plug but no spark ? it was at least firing when i got it :) and yes the kill button is working tested with ohm meter on and off.

Hope to here from someone about this problem

Thanks Philip

:) CDI has been changed but not by me checked it is all wired up but no light green wire coming out of it but there is a light green wire stub-ed out with just a cap on it. cdi looks very new.

If you are getting output from the spades that attach to the coil...but nothing at the plug...sounds like the coil.  You can test the coil itself.  Remove it and test from either spade to the spark plug cap...should be less than 13K ohm.  Between the 2 spades should be something like 160 ohm.

Meter was set to 20K

Coil test removed coil test at green spade to cap 1.55
Coil test removed coil test at black spade to cap 1.55
Spade to Spade reading was 0.00 ?

Put new plug in no spark ???

Something sounds wrong with the spade to cap reading it should have higher resistance than that...it's usually around 6k-12K ohms. Is this an oem coil?
For the other test...spade to spade you need to set your meter in the 200 ohm setting.

Edit:  Just checked the manual and the resistance with the plug cap on is 6.99K - 10.21K
Without the cap (it just unscrews from the wire)  between 3.24K - 3.96K
For this test set your meter in the 20K setting.

The other test set meter to 200, should be between 0.153 - 0.187
Keep in mind this is very low resistance, depending on your meter you may have to touch the 2 probes together and subtract that # from your reading.  That will subtract the resistance of your probes from the coil.

No it is not oem it has writing on the wire by the plug cap. Racing high speed.
i just redid the test on spade to spade with meter set on 200 ohm the reading is 00.4  ???
