Yes you can tell it to avoid motorways and toll roads, i have recently moved to a rural area and without the sat nav i would have got lost down the many winding country roads so its really helped why i get use to the area, i also normaly set mine for shortest route rather than fastest as the shorter route turns out to be the quickest if you cant get much more than 30 to 40 mph but you can preview the route before you set off and decide which looks more suited for that journey fastest or shortest route, it also tells you how many miles the journey will be and your rough time of arrival. I attach mine to the right wing mirror post near the bottom of the stem so its to the right of the speedometer and because the garmin uses a pivot ball type attachment it does not matter the wing mirror post is on a akward angle the garmin can just be rotated to keep it the correct way up and facing you hope this helps....
Yes that is the one in the link but i got mine from asda for 49.99 i previously had tom tom for my car which is a good sat nav but the battery only lasts about a hour in real use. I much prefer the garmin now as it is easier to use as it has simpler menu and also lane guidance and much better battery life about 3 hours in real use.....
