What does R stand for?
« on: May 03, 2012, 02:57:54 AM »
I've look through my owner's manual, sales brochures, and the internet. I can't find out what the R means in Kymco products such as
Xciting 500Ri or Xciting 250Ri. I think it has to do with the rear disc brake but that is just an uneducated guess. Anyone out there
know what it means?

First there was the Xciting 500, then the 500i (“i” meaning fuel injected), The latest is the 500Ri, This latest model has features that denote “sporty” or “racy” in nature like black wheels, black mirrors, black underside, red brake calipers plus ABS as an option. There are many manufacturers that use the “R” to give it a sporty image. “R” started with Honda, the Type R, for their race tuned cars. It is also being used by other companies as well. Older cars use the “GT” badge to denote sportiness of their product.

I went on a Hooide Tooide tirade one night about people with more money than brain. Some one posted asking about a hole under the seat as if it were supposed to be some sort of feature on the scoot. It sent me over the edge Bro!
I deal with it all day with new customers that want... Electric powered flag poles, and motorized remote control captains chairs, and stereos that change the channel when commercials come on, and toilets that double as jet ski's. They always say "money is no issue" but when you tell them there are kids being murdered in Africa they don't have "Time" to care. It only takes me about ten minutes to determine if someone is going to be a customer or another piece of human debris.
No offense Mike... Your post just reminded me of that "HOLE"
Your question is perfectly valid... I didn't know either!
