2009 Grandvista seat
« on: April 10, 2015, 01:29:03 AM »
Hi All,  New to this forum.  I just bought a brand new 2009 Grandvista and am new to the scooter world.  Other than the weather, pot holes and crazy drivers it's been a lot of fun.  My problem is with the seat which I've seen many posts on.  My question is how to remove the pad in the middle of the seat.  I've taken off the 3 nuts off that hold it from underneath but the pad seems to be glued in part to the rest of the seat.  I didn't want to force anything.  Anyone have experience taking this thing off?  Thanks in advance for any help.  Happy to be part of this.

You may be interested in the Captain's Seat.  Got mine from Pride of Cleveland Scooters in Clave. Ohio.  Just over $200.  Have had it several years.  Extremely comfortable unless you are extremely tall.  I do know there is some differences between 2004 & 2009 standard seats.

Thanks Urbestfriend,  I've seen them available on eBay.  I would first like to try the stock seat without the middle cushion but I don't want to damage anything taking it off.  It just seems like I'm being forced to sit too far forward.

I'm not totally sure how to take it off, but I've sat on customers bikes with the backrest off and it defiantly didn't make it any more comfortable, under the pad is hard plastic and bolt holes, and your butt can feel that!. If you plan on taking off the back rest then you should just take the seat cover totally off and add some foam to where the backrest was and youll be golden.

Thanks Bettinandlosin.  I had a feeling that was the case.  Great forum.  Thanks again
