Battery Replacement?
« on: April 10, 2012, 02:56:13 AM »
Anyone else have a hard time finding a battery, or know where to get one online? The yt12a-bs from our scooters are 4inches tall, all the ones I can find are about a half inch or so too tall. Would be nice to find a 11 or better ah rating. I found one that had 8AH, but with the difficulty starting in hot weather, I'm bit hesitant to get it. The dealer is 40 miles away, so...I'd rather not make the drive if I can avoid it.

Do a search for "yt12a-bs" on Google. Loads of options. You'll have to sort through. Although believe I found your replacement within the first few listings for $49.00.

Good luck!

Well, that one is  10ah, though. But the list is long buddy!  :D

Found one that's 4.13. My measurements are exactly 4...I wonder if it's close enough, one of those things like a 2x4 piece of wood isn't really 2x4. All my other motorcycles have been/are Yamaha's/Honda's/Kawasaki's, never really had this problem. Walk into a store and tell them you have a Kymco and they give you a funny look, look at their book and tell you they have no record of such a bike. At least in the US they do.

The one that I found was 4.06 inches, which should fit with some elbow grease. The battery compartments are fairly snug so that your battery isn't constantly being jostled around. Worse comes to worse, just call your dealer and ask them about a replacement and what the measurements are. Then go online and compare.
