Scooter went in for first service on Monday the technician found a problem with the drive belt, ordered a new belt and installed it (warranty covered) because the bike had to stay the extra day there was no charge for the first service.
This is my third scooter but my first brand new one. I have always maintained my own scooters and my Kawasaki.
The original question was about the service cost for a new bike during the break in period. Not some crappy condescending ... watch and learn answer.
If you have dealer warranty use it.
For everyone who just answered the question....thanks
Sorry you took it that way. I don't think we meant anything condescending at all by our responses. It's good to know your dealer is there for you. My dealer, and the dealers of some others, are not exactly helpful because they are dealing with a scooter - which for some reason they don't respect. I've been in my dealer several times and heard them saying the same thing "These things are bulletproof. They last forever, and you'll never have problems." In fact, I have a check engine light issue that I've shown them. Their response? Don't worry about it unless it happens when the engine is operating.
Essentially, I was saying to do it yourself because your dealer isn't going to be very helpful. Glad I was wrong, though.
