People GT 300i Questions

Where can a person find the recommended maintenance schedule for the 300i?  

Are the brakes non-ABS?  I didn't see anything stated on Kymco's site (maybe I missed it?)

 
Seriously considering one, rode one recently and liked it.

The maintenance schedule is in the owner's manual which you can download at http://www.kymcousa.com/owners/index.html

Basically regular maintenance is required at 1000km, then 5000km and then every 5000km after that.

The brakes on the People GT 300i are NOT ABS.

TRY PUTTING A FUSE IN THE EMPTY FUSE SLOT IN THE FUSEBOX.

Why in the world would you want to do this?   That feature has saved me a couple of times from riding off with the kickstand down and a possible spill.

Maybe it's not for you to do, but as an experienced motorcyclist, I have not had an issue with sidestands and riding off with them down, guess I've developed a good habit of putting it up prior to riding off.

The reason why I would like to do it is because I'm a believer of not just starting the engine and riding off.  My normal routine is push the bike out of the garage and fire it up while I close the door and put on my helmet & gloves.  This allows for the engine to warm up and I don't need to just sit there.

I did the by-pass on my previous scooter, an Xciting 500 & had no problems.

I found the fuse box next to the battery, is there a trick to get the cover off?  I'll have to check it out in more detail.

After removing the cover to the fuse box, there is one empty slot, but it doesn't have any metal contacts in it so the idea of putting a fuse in there to disable the sidestand switch is out.

What is this "thing" in the second picture for/what does it do?

That's probably the diagnostic port.

I've seen articles on ABS equipped GT300I's, but they are either prototypes or just available overseas.
Blue '23 People S 150i ABS  Moto Discovery GPS bar, Shad SH33 top case, Iridium spark plug, Black reflective graphics, Battery Tender ring terminal cable, LED tag light.
