Highway bars
« on: June 06, 2012, 06:49:12 AM »
Anyone make anything like this?  It sure would be nice to put a set of highway bars on it, I have a welder and probably could make some, the hard part would be attaching them securely.  I've seen them  for other scooters, haven't seen any for the Yager?

I'm just looking for something like footpegs that fold up when not in use, and not protruding out the sides when not in use.

I have an idea for them, and have a set of factory KLR650 footpegs, I could probably make something, maybe I need to start building them and marketing them?

these are ones I've seen on the Zuma:

I think these were on the Burgman:

If your Yager is new won't that invalidate your warranty?

In some countries, yes, in some, no, as long as you don't do engine/cvt/electrical mods.

no, should have nothing to do with the warranty here, we have a law about certain modifications and they can't void the warranty, this is purely cosmetic...

I don't like the ones listed above, I think they would need to be something that is folded out of the way, but they can also work as crash bars if you happen to take a fall, save from replacing all the plastic

I probably have to look at my warranty, but I thought it applied to the body, and the engine/electrical system.

realistically, even if something voided my warranty, and depending what it is, i would probably do it anyways.

My warranty says that the scoot has to be serviced in the authorized service center.... I never did because it was too far away.. I voided my warranty the month I got the scoot  ;D ;D ;D

If something breaks, I'll just have it fixed or mod...

Highway bars is very important part of vehicle. They are also known as engine guards or crash guards. They protect engine of the bike in a low speed crash or incase accident.
