Hi all

My name is Mark.
I live in the UK
i have a Mk 1 2005 Xciting 500 which i have owned from new.
My scoot was the very first one to imported into the UK back in the summer of 2005.

Although Kymco are gradually making a name for themselves over here i am still one of only twelve Xciting 500 owners in the UK.

The first Kymco i had was the Miller 125cc (the Grand Dink) and wanted to up-grade to the 250cc version but this was not available in the UK.

Although i think the Xciting is a fantastic machine i was looking to change it at the end of this year for the My Road but unfortunately this model will not be available in the UK

The scoot is still pretty much standard with the exception of a Givi passenger back rest, although i did have a Kymco colour coded  Top box but took that off in favour of a Givi throw over pannier set which suites me better when touring in the summer months

These pics of my scoot was taken in a photo shoot for twist and go magazine when i was approached by them asking if they could use the scoot to do a review on the Xciting.
Consequently Kymco UK used these photo's for there on line catalogue promoting the Xciting.

How do you know its mine ?

If you look closely at the wind shield you will see my Toad security alarm decal just above the Kymco badge

Hi Mark and others.
I live in Brisbane Au. Very surprised to learn only 12 Xc 500 in UK.
I brought my 500i 2 months ago privately, only had 1200km on it . I believe it the very first sold here in Queensland.
Terrific machine, just love it . Now done 3000km plus with many more to come.

Done most of the big bike shops in Yorkshire to show people what it looked like in the first year i got it

 They should hire me. Already working for them everywhere I go people ask me questions. A little boy, about 5 or 6, said to me at the video store; I like your bike!  I said; Why Thank You.  He replied back;  My dad is gona freak out!  I guess he could not wait to tell him.  Impressing the little boys is the most fun of all!    Wish I had the connections and money to start a KYMCO shop in my home town. There is not a local, big 4, motorcycle dealer here but, I've never seen so many bikes in one town, per capita, as this one. Shelbyville IN. Vespa dealor started up a few years ago. They are way overpriced. I saw a 250cc Vespa ON SALE for $200 more than my Xciting 500 list for. And that was in January. Nobody rides in January here. Burr!! I rode today at 40 degrees but I have Tourmaster heated clothing. Nice and toasty. There were a couple of Harleys out bar hoping! I never saw anyone else out side of town. I was warm as toast but all that gear and full face helmit takes some of the free feeling out of it. Should warm up any day. It'll be April soon!
